OUR EDITORIAL STANDARDS

Good answers need good foundations.

We start with official sources, make the scope visible and separate requirements from recommendations.

Follow the source

Guides link to the relevant regulator or government guidance. Our source library identifies who publishes it. A supplier’s sales page is not evidence that a service is legally required.

Legislation, approved codes, guidance, standards and commercial recommendations do different jobs. We avoid presenting them as interchangeable.

Say where the answer applies

Each topic identifies its jurisdiction. England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland do not share every rule. If the finder cannot establish your location, it asks.

We explain when responsibility depends on the lease, control of premises, activities or other facts. Missing information remains an open question rather than a confident assumption.

Use AI for the right job

AI helps interpret the description you type and find relevant topics. It does not generate the legal requirements shown in your checklist. Those come from a structured, source-linked library.

You can change the extracted details alongside your answer, or enter them yourself without AI. No AI-generated result is proof of compliance.

Review honestly

This early-access site contains source-checked drafts. Each guide shows its source-check date. Specialist editorial sign-off is still pending. A source-check date records when the referenced guidance was checked; it is not a claim that a qualified professional reviewed the page.

Our next editorial step is competent review, named editorial responsibility and an operating process for changes. We will not silently refresh dates or publish automatically generated legal updates.

Correct mistakes and disclose interests

Readers can report a problem from any guide. A correction should be checked against the source and recorded before publication.

Advertising, paid introductions and recommendations connected to Vivid Planner must be labelled. Commercial arrangements must not alter the explanation of a duty.
